The lone wolf mentality will leave you broke and bitter.  If you want to thrive as a Nigerian in the UK, you must understand the value of collaboration.  Do not try to do everything by yourself.  Working with others can open doors, cut expenses, and multiply influence in a variety of contexts, including business, events, and community outreach.

Collaborations are about more than just profit sharing; they also involve sharing wisdom, networks, and strengths.  Assuming you bake, and someone else runs a delivery service.  What happens when you collaborate?  You gain reach.  You grow faster.  However, many Nigerians are still trapped in the "I don't trust anybody" mindset.  While caution is prudent, fear is costly.  Don't let it stymie opportunities.

Successful people abroad do not go alone.  They build on each other's abilities.  You do not need to know everything.  You must seek out persons who are more knowledgeable than you.  Choose collaborators with vision, integrity, and humility.  Sign the agreements.  Clarify expectations.  Communicate clearly.  This is not guesswork; it is a strategic partnership.

Remember that collaboration is not confined to profit-making ventures.  You can work together to organise empowerment events, cultural exhibits, support new immigrants, or launch a community magazine.  Sometimes the reward is effect and credibility, which eventually leads to revenue.  Do not underestimate the seeds you plant with others.

You do not have to shine alone.  The sky is broad enough.  Collaborate with people that think big, perform ethically, and are not scared by your success.  Together, you can create something enduring.
